Internet Marketing - Internet Web Tools and Sites that Help you Market Online

It has been a few weeks since my last post. This was due to the having a lot going on at work and home. Not to mention several days without electric due to a crazy storm that hit the east coast last week.

Even with all that going on, I have been able to manage my goal of spending at least one hour per day working on developing my Internet Marketing business. During that time, I have read several additional book and and listened various Podcasts that covered topic such as SEM )search engine marketing), SEO (search engine optimization), affiliate marketing, internet marking tools, internet marketing software, and how to start an internet marketing business.

As with the internet marketing books that I outlined in my previous posts, some of what I read and heard was worth the time and others were not. One thine you begin to realize when doing research on how to build and internet marketing business is that most of the information is the same with little or no additional value.

Of the several books I read the past few weeks across the various internet marketing subjects, the following were the best and I recommend that you have a read
  1. Landing Page Optimization for Dummies by Martin Harwood and Mike Harwood
  2. Grow your Business with Google Adwords by Jon Smith

One thing I have picked up on while reading through the internet markeing books and listening to the Podcasts, people are very keen on providing insights into web tools and internet marketing websites that help you understand, develop and manage your internet / email marketing business.

I thought it would be a good idea to provide some of them to help you reduce your search.

Meetups:

  1. warriorforum.com - the best place to to learn about internet marketing, ebook selling and home based business
  2. meetup.com - helps group of people with share interests plan meetings and form offline clubs in local communities around the world

Web Development:

  1. wordpress.org - free blog software and one of the most popular blog tools around
  2. dreamweaver.com - web design software
  3. fireworks - create and optimize images for the web quickly and easily

Live Video:

  1. ustream - broadcast video live from your computer to around the world
  2. webcammax - add video pictures and effects to virtual/real webcam and broadcasts

For my next blog, I will provide links to affiliate sites, web analytics, web training, time saving, SEO and SEM.

I hope that you have found the information I have provided on internet marketing interesting and helpful. Until next time.....

Internet Marketing - Internet Marketing Getting Your Business Started - Week 1

I am quickly learning that there is a lot to learn about starting an Internet marketing business. The Internet marketing books that I have taken out from the library have been an invaluable resource for me and I suggest you read them as well.

Yanik Silver's book is a quick read and provides get insight into how to get started, where to find some buiness ideas or "steal some" as he puts it, using ebay for your business and other suggestions.

Robert Skrob and Bob Regnerus's book The Official Get Rich Guide to Information Marketing on the Internet has a lot of the same concepts as Yanik's book; however, I felt it provided greater detail and insights on how to go about starting your Internet marketing business.

Joe Viatale & Jullian Coleman Wheeler's book Your Internet Cash Machine did not provide any additional information and I feel was not written as well as the first two.

The key points in developing an Internet marketing strategies that I have picked up over the first week are:
  1. Great ideas are all around us if we take the time to listen
  2. Research yourself - identify what you are good at, what excites you, what interests or hobbies do you have and what do people ask your help with
  3. Research your family and friends - what solutions do they need, what challenges do they face, what problems or concerns
  4. Research the Internet - there a tons of site that offer this kind of information, some good sites are Internet Business Mastery and Start Up Nation
  5. Listen to Podcasts - there are many podcast that discuss Internet marketing and provide tools that will help you get started
  6. Read books - as I mentioned in my first blog, the library has a lot of books that will help
  7. Identify the information niche that you will be utilizing to start your business
  8. Work on your business at least an hour a day

All that stuff is a great way to begin but the most important step of all is to just go and start. Do not put it off and wait until you have the best idea, best website, best content - just start!!!!
